If you mean you have a lvl 7 looted weapon that has not been reverse engineered yet, you need to find 6 other lvl 7 weapons. Once you have 7, a shipwright can put them all in a tool, and out comes 1 weapon with the best stats of all 7 combined into one. So one might have the best mass, another might have the best damage, it takes the best of all and makes one with those stats.

When you RE a set of weapons, the final stats on the output weapon will be the best stat from the entire set on each, plus a little bonus for the RE. For example, I just RE'd a set of 10 level 10 weapons. One of the weapons in the set had a 4300+ max damage, which was the best damage of the entire set of 10. When I RE'd the set, the max damage on the output weapon was 4587, which was the 4300+, plus a bonus of about 6%. Level 10 RE's get a 6% bonus, and lower levels get a lower bonus. So when people say you get the best stat from the group, that is not exactly so. You actually get the best stat PLUS a bonus. The best weapon I've ever created is something like 4700+ max damage, .8+ to both armor and shields, refire rate .38 and energy per shot something like 35. Mass on that one is about 43000. Having a 4700, a 4500, a 3800 and a 3000 damage weapons stacked on a B wing and all firing at once is nice.
