I'm sorry to sound like a noob, but I keep seeing stuff about RE parts. How does this work? Do you turn in certain parts to a Shipwright and they churn out a better part for you? Do they all have to be that same exact model or level or anything? How do you know if you are getting a RE part?

Thanks for your info and patience

Check the Shipwright Guides sticky at the top of the forum. There's a Guide to REing inside that.

Basically, yes. If you get space loot and bring the right number of it to a SW, they can RE it for you and produce 1 new piece with the best stats from each of the items you turned in, plus a bonus percentage based on the RE level. So, for example, you have a RE level 4 blaster - you would need 3 more lvl 4 blasters before you can have a SW combine them into one blaster that would take the best stat from each of the original 4. This is where the fun comes in - hunting to try to find the right part with the stat you're looking for...like 1 piece that has a real low mass and another that has a good refire rate etc. Definitly check out the guide in the sticky for a much more indepth explination about REing
