The fact that my littlemineral extractorrequires a steady supply of fuel but I can freely hyperspace around the known galaxy in my dunelizard without ever unscrewing the cap seems out of whack. But it was a game balancing decision that was made at some point. Does anyone know the reasoning behind it? Just curious.

You ever carried a flame thrower in RL? I have. Ships I understand a lot more than flame throwers!

My guess is that reactors are fuel enough. It comes with fuel in it and unless damaged, does not require any additional fuel. You know some nuclear element that gives off energy for 1000 years.

Same reason that we don't have to eat food to avoid permadeath (or death at all)--it wasn't needed to provide challenge in any interesting way. If it weren't for harvester maintenance, harvs would be pretty freakin' easy--just put it down somewhere and turn it on. These small things about them make them require responsible handling, and also help to up the ante on the investment required--not to mention draw more excess cash from the 'final cash destination'--that'd be us, the crafters.

Its a Nuclear Fusion Reactor. Lets first see battery packs for weapons like Vibro weapons Blasters and others. Lets not gimp pilots right off just cause they are new.
