What I can't figure is why we get no xp whatsoever for reverse engineering parts? Slicers get xp for slicing weapons, so why not give us some xp for engineering? It's been my experience that looted parts never equal up to quality crafted parts of the same level (as in a tier 3 blaster vs. a mid grade blaster) so sales on them are much lower and the rate at which they drop as disks is silly, so why not a little xp reward there. Anywone else feel this way?

There used to be a line where it required nothing but RE xp in beta as i understand it. but they nixed it because it was a pain in the butt to go up that line.

Yup, one tree used to gain xp off of REing items. For example, the first box took, I think 10k RE xp. You could only RE level 1 items there, and each one would net 100 RE xp. So be glad you dont have to RE 1000 items to go up THE FIRST BOX!

There was initaily basicly a profession whos purpose was REing things only, but that was nixed pretty quick when they realized that having a profession only to RE was pretty dump and pointless.

Actually, the only reason I took up shipwright is to reverse engineer stuff. I roleplay investigating and conducting research on the firespray.
I was pretty gutted to find that;
a) I could only do RE 1 at novice
b) I could only RE higher stuff by crafting rather than REing to get xp
