Hey devs, nice job on increasing engine speed; that's all you deserve thanks for. The PYR on those engines still handle like piles of bricks. I maxed out my PYR experimentation on a mark 5 engine with quality resources and they still failed to break 57. If you think that crafted engines should handle like bricks then at least add a PYR upgrade part which maybe drains more power.


As for the crapacitors, well, the name gives it away. Level six loot easily breaks 1000 and 40 recharge. I crafted a level 7 capacitor a few days ago with green quality resources. The regen was 33 and the total was 700. Devs, you told us we would be able to beat level 6 loot. Go back to your rooms for a time-out.

Are you sure about the resources?...Cuz I hit 61 YPR on a Mark 5 engine which im primarily maxing out top speed to 115.

For this I agree with you...max energy and regen rates are a wee bit low. How bout putting two special components for capacitors.

Don't get so worked up about it!


DP said he was going to run some new numbers to try and improve it again. Surely it's better to get there slowly and get it right than try in one go and get it really wrong?


To me it doesn't seem like a problem with crafting as a whole, but with the equipment levels as the odd level looted caps are crap too. Whatever it is that makes odd level caps so awful is where I think the problem lies. I'm keeping faith.

the YPR values actually aren't that bad, but they do need a bit more effect per point of experimentation, between 6 points of experimentation and 12 points of experimentation strictly into YPR yields only 2 points of YPR difference. of course on a per axis basis that's talking 2 points vs 4 points... its still insane to have these things seperate, to do anything you are talking multiples of 3 just vanishing. DP we really need either big impact per experimentation point oradd a new experimentation that is a combined YPRbranch (keep the 3seperate so you can tweak further if customers want)

Excuse my frustration, the capacitors are just the "straw that broke the cammel's back." This is something we have been asking for for several months. I they don't improve the odd leveled parts, they should just switch shipwrights to even leveled parts. This "nerf" comment had more to do with the uncraftable ships.

I don't agree that this is a "showstopper". I just don't craft them--I feel it does my customers an injustice. Actually, I have crafted a few in my time, mainly to put together a database of experimentation caps. I put all of them on my vendor and all of them sold

As for the uncraftable ships--its actually a relief. The amount of "great resources" I have outstrips the "chassis quality resources". In a nutshell, I was a little worried about how many resources the Y-8 was going to require--can you just see that one--250K steel, 125K ore, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Low availability of resources = low supply = high demand = more cash
