they are just there for decorational purposes, they do look good

but i've been told they do offer some little bit of extra armour protection before your components take damage (after sheilds and main armour of course)

it rarely happens to me either as if it gets that far... if i've got no sheilds, and my armours pratically gone, i'm usually dead anyway before too longlol

Didn't winglets and strakes increase the mass capacity of the ship chassis during beta. In fact, I remember seeing a post from a dev (maybe Thunderheart) to this effect. Thus, I have a question. Is the fact that winglets and strakes appear to be decorational only a bug or intentional?

They never increased mass in beta - it was one of the first issues we raised with themat the time, the post you are thinking of is where DP revealed the Heavy X-wing did exist but we hadn't seen it yet (for some reason the release of it is included in the publish 17 patch notes, but it has been around for quite a while)

The Shiro Clan of TC -
...has successfully tracked Tiggs
...is still tracking down more bugs
NB: Any comments I make on TC code can and often do change
before they reach live and may not reach live at all, please read my
comments with that in mind.

Whats even funnier is that on the www.lucasarts.com web site if you go to RoTW for Galaxies, and look under new features/ships.... there is a description and picture of a Winglet for a Tie-fighter which is said to increase the responsiveness of the ships systems.... and well.. this doesn't exist in game as far as I know.

Which is very interesting.

Thanks for clarifying that Red-Dwarf, we really appreciate it.

I also noticed that all the Shipwright-related release notes have already been released. Like someone might have cut-and-pasted from something old.

Just an other small question about winglet: are you able to use the kimogila ones on a MT22 krayt?

Not to my knowledge... hence "Kimogila Winglets". I'm sure there will be more such customizations in the future, though.
