Hi,
I have build 2 engines today, 1 Elite engine(POB only) and one Mark V Starfighter Engine
Stats came out like this:
Elite Engine :
Armor : 606.6
Hitpoints : 1106.6
Energy Drain : 2624.5
Mass : 250000
P/Y/R : 65.0 / 65.4 / 65.0
Top Speed : 103.1
Mark V Engine :
Armor : 501.1
Hitpoints : 1001.2
Energy Drain : 2462.5
Mass : 34003.1
P/Y/R : 63.0 / 63.0 / 63.0
Top Speed : 108.4
I then asked myself, whats up with those Elite Parts?
I Used the same resources on both (except the asteroid resources ofcourse) and used the same Mark V Upgrade.
The only thing that went slightly different was the experimentation, where I stopped P/Y/R experiment on the Starfighter and added the last 3 points into Speed.
From my point of view are the Mark V engine far better than the Elite, it got lower Drain, and ALOT less mass....
Whats your thoughts on the Elite parts? Worth the many mining trips or simple waise of time and resources?

This has a lot to do with the fact that asteroid resources are not being weighed into the crafting process correctly. For example, if a stat depends on conductivity, this stat will not be calculated correctly because asteroid resources do not have conductivity.

TBH honest the elite ship parts are a waste of time...
Yes, I agree--until they fix how asteroid resources are treated during crafting, it is a waste of time to spend mining those resources just to end up with substandard components.

Elite weapons, shields, and reactors all experiment normally. I haven't had too many asteroid resources to work with, but whenever I get one of these in they sell within a day or two, even at pretty high prices.

Yea, I sell them pretty fast too. However, you have to admit that something is not quite right. Given the mass of these components, I would have expected better stats.

He does know that something is not quite right. That's why he's specifying weapons, shields, and reactors as the good Elite items. For the other items I guess we'll have to wait (and wait) for a fix.

I think whats really is needed, are Elite SubComponents.
An extra "Mark VI - Elite" part which can only be fitted into the Elite Components.
They will ofcourse take even more resources than the Mark V part, but will also grant higher experimentation and thus granting a better fininshed Elite Ship Component.
And then the Asteroid Stats need to be sorted.
Those 2 suggestions would make Elite Parts very attractive I guess.

ive noticed my pob parts comming out close to mark 4's i make as well
my elite engine came out with 70 to p/y/r and 116 top speed , where my mark 4 comes out 120 top speed with 60 to p/y/r
now the shields on pob are alot better
pob elite shields was 3144 to front and back with a 48 recharge rate
guns are just like looted level 10 parts that ive noticed
