I am almost able to train as a novice shipwright. I just was wondering what I need to start out the proffesion. Also I have heard that the easiest way to master it was to craft ship chassis and then sell them later. I was wondering if this was true and if not what is the easiest way to master Shipwright? Thank you for the help and by the way my character is Bolpuhr Fortunae on the Naritus galaxy if anyone would like to send an in-game e-mail. Thank you again.

Howdy

Not sure how much you know about the profession but you will need ALOT of resources or alot of credits to buy resourcesto get to master. You can never have enough steel. Best bet is to read the sticky guides.

Regarding what is best to make.....I started SW when JTL came out so people were buying chassis left and right. So I got xp and recouped some credits back. The basic chassis like y-wings ect.. arent really a hot item anymore. On the server Im on they are on the bazaar for 6K.

Good luck

What you need to start out as Shipwright: As stated before, resources, primarily Steel, Ore, Aluminum and Iron initially, then Fiberplast and Copper later. Once you start making components (later) there are a few "New" resources required for them, but for now, you have time. Your 'rate limiting' step will most likely be resource gathering. Those who Mastered Shipwright within 24 hoursafter JTL launch, had MILLIONS stockpiled. If you have MILLIONS stockpiled, you too can Master in 24 hours. So, heavy harvesters on all the resources I stated earlier....cross lot swaps can be used to get lots of harvesters on the ground quick, but they are expensive to maintain and power. The harvesters themselves are expensive...10 heavies can cost 1 million retail, and thats before you put 1 dime of maintenance in it, and you still have to power it up.And besides resources, Id say you need PATIENCE. It takes awhile to pull the stuff out of the ground. I mined all my own resources...Master took me over 3 months.

Easiest way to Master Shipwright: Well, like all crafting professions, getting to Master is based on xp. Theres no way around the fact that your ship chassis' give you the most xp in the shortest amount of time, and I'd bet a dollar to a donut that MOST Shipwrights got to Master by cranking out chassis. So, in short, the EASIEST way is to pump out chassis. But chassis are your resource hogs. Tier 0=5K in resources, Tier 1=15K in resources......etc,etc.

This simple equation might help: Boatload of resources+Chassis'=Master Shipwright the quickest.

Hope this answered your questions...........

There is lots of good information in the threads which have been stickied at the top of this forum.

If you look at the Artisan forum, I'll assume you can find your own way there and won't be needing a link, there are also threads which have been stickied at the top and these also contain great information including a section on resources and their harvesting.

Hope that helps.

It is a big job in all honesty.

I've not been a SW for that long and I've been slowly building up, mining my own resources rather than buying. The quality of my crafted components is certainly not the best there is but it's improving all the time and although it's time consuming I find it rewarding.

Now seeing as you didn't go mad over my obnoxious 1st post, here's a couple of useful links for you
