Thread: Unhappy about Uncrafted ROTW reward chassis? How it should have done...

Just an opinion of course, but I belive the best way this could have beenimplemented would have been for a single usedraft schmeatic forthenew shipsto be given out as aone-time quest reward. This way the player still has to earn the ship, but hewould then need totake it to a shipwright to have draft schematic crafted into a Working chassis. or hejust sell it onto the shipwrigth to add to his own salesstock.
I would suggest this method is employed to add any future questvessels.
Thoughts on this?
Well, you look at this in a positve light. The CU and RotW have generated so many sales for me that I have no right to complain. It is actually a blessing that I don't have 500 players coming to me asking me to craft their JSF for them ![]()
Or, you can be negative, which detracts from the fun. Try to remember, this is a game. When it stops being fun, you have to ask yourself why you're playing.
I would have preferred something along the lines of a schematic. The Devs have made the Combats rely on each other, and tell Crafters to rely on Combats to protect them now that they are shaupaut-fodder, but heaven forbid the Combats not get their instant gratification so that Crafters could be included in the process.
A good way to handle the new fighters would have been to make them a limited use schematic (2 or 3) that requires some asteroid resources and not make the quest the prerequisite to fly the ship. By including asteroid resources it would keep the market from being flooded.

Look at it from my point of view: the Quests go the good ships and shipwrights were left with mere high mass varients of novice ships. It does help that our craftable ships have the best values for YPR. I even have some small demand to craft these ships, but these ships are bland. It would help if they gave us "fun" stuff to craft, not just stuff that is too bland to be a reward.
More ships will be added. More neat things will be added. We got some stuff with the expansion. Tier III mining lasers are pretty hot right now. Some of our crafted components just got an upgrade. With the next expansion, I'm sure we'll see more ships added that we can craft. Kashyyyk was a very quest-driven planet, and the rewards just wouldn't be as special if you had to hunt down someone else just to get the reward you earned. Nothing says "Thanks for sticking your neck out for me" quite like being given a schematic and then having to go pay someone else to give you your real reward, right?
Been hanging in there for a while![]()
Lack of consitency in this game is truly at an all time high.
How many quest gave up a schematic so far in the game.
It has been part of this game since the start.

TEFs had been in the game from the start too, but those were still taken out because they were a bad idea.
I am generally of two minds about the whole item vs. schematic issue
On one hand, I understand the plight of the crafter. You want to be a legitimate part of the economy and you want to craft and sell fun things. I respect that.
On the other, I know the bitter taste I get in my mouth when I spend two months beating my head against a brick wall doing DWB runs for a DE-10 schem an yellow barrel then another month looting or buying Krayt tissues to make it with. At the end of this oddessy I get the privledge of paying a crafter to put the thing together for me.
Now we get some of the ROTW quests. Some of these people actually give you their items. Mort gives you his old suit of armor. The betrayer givesyou a rifle. Darth Vader gives you his old ship, the one he flewinROTS.
I believe that these quests have a place in the game. Sometimes it is nice for a combat character to get an instant reward.
However, as for the new ships, I do not believe in having schems for them generated.Ship hull mechanics justmake the whole business even worse.
I get a ship schem. Find a SW, whom I will pay to make it. If it is a multi-use schem, the SW is also gonna keep the thing to make more bank off of. Then, on top of it, I have to pay the game to turn my blueprints into a deed.
Sorry, I just want the ship for once.

I don't like it. I prefer to see people rewarded with things they can actually use. Somehow, it seems less special to me for Lord Vader to say "Here's my old ship, to strike fear into the hearts of the Rebels. Some assembly required. Batteries sold seperately." And it would be even worse if I couldn't actually put the things together myself.
I partially disagree with you. There have always been high end items (Av-21s, Beserker rifles) which started out with looted parts and schematics that get turned into items. Come to think of this, there are a lot of these items. I got my special ops pack and demolitionists belt because I looted the schematic, and gave them to a tailor to make for me. They got a limited use schematic, I got a belt for free, all was good.
In the long run, you the player suffer beacause as your ship decays, there is no way for you to repair it or get a new one when the chassis wears out. And these things decay very fast
I say partially disagree, because I am also a combat character (and pilot) and it is nice to have the instant reward. I think for unique items, like the Grievous fighter, Jedi Fighter; then yes those can be deeds. For standard items - heavy X wing - they could be limited use schematics or crafted.
