What is the deal with this?Reverse Engineerparts and name them, I get stuck in this endless loop of how I can't name my object no matter what, just says that it is a reserved name.

I have some level 5 armor for example. Which has prompted me to write this post. I've tried to following names, and all say it is a reserved name:

Staveeno Level5 Armor

Staveeno Level5 Composite

Staveeno L5 Composite

L5 Composite

L5 Composite Armor

Nothing seems to work, what am I doing wrong?

I'm going to guess that the word composite is reserved, but I'm not sure about your first example... I've never tried to include the level in an RE'd part name but that might be it.

I believe the same filter that applies to naming vendors applies to RE'ing. This is believe the game is a global game. An example is the word "Counter", a perfectly normal word in English, but when Converted to another language (not saying which one), it turns into a "not appropriate" word.

That being said, I find the biggest problem with RE'ing and Reserved limitation is quotes: "Double" quotes are Reserved, though 'Single' quotes are not and work fine.

Hope this helps.

Doh, didn't see your examples that were denyed, sorry.

Try: Level V

I believe numbers are all reserved (1, 2, 3, ext..)

Yeah, I can confirm that. No numbers in ship names or RE parts, only in crafted parts. Use Roman numerals.

Is there a way of getting the old name to be included? Like making it "RE <old name>" so it retains that old look?

It always retains the "look" of the first component you put in the RE tool, only see it for weapons tho (and engines on some ships).

There's a post around listing all names and all weapon skins, very nice

I have to disagree, Nick.

MSW on Ahazi (Queen Anne Shipworks) and my standard RE tag includes numbers.

"QA L8 Gun", "QA L5 Reactor", etc. I recently had to drop my "QA" tag on one item, but it still allowed me to put a number in the new name.

you cannot use the numbers 0-9, that is what's causing the problem, however roman numerals may be used

You were correct. No numbers in names. That's what I get for posting while sleep deprived.
