A guildie of mine told me that there are 100 units of space on them and you can invite up to 8 people on it at a time. I thought about making mine a mobile crafting station so I dont have to go all the way back to my house to craft.

That is EXACTLY what I did with mine. I have a crafting station on the lower deck and resources stacked up in the meditation room (I prefer style over function so I like to keep my places lookin' good). If I was a hardcore crafter though, I'd line the main room with crafting stations, with my resources stacked at one end.

Same here. I love going up into space, sitting on that top deck, looking out the window at the stars and crafting spaceship parts. Ahh star wars

My house is in a research center city. What's the difference / consequencesof being on a ship compared to being in a research center?

According to the advanced player city guide :
Any experimentation done within a 'Research Center' is enhanced. A 15% bonus to the final result roll is added during the experimentation phase of crafting.
So being on a ship or house in the wilds doesn't have that bonus. Still I enjoy the stars.

Man I REALLY want to get my hands on a POB ship. I need a mobile apartment! I personally would move into the Y-8 in a heartbeat if they fix the question AND the vertical movement bug. Sorosuub tho? *whistle* those things are sweet!
