Thread: did they mess up the loot system?

Some crafted are better, some looted are better. Looted are difficult to maintain however, especially when you start using droid programs.

With Mark V gear specificially, its pretty easy to get mostly crafted because there are no mass requirements. I do agree that some crafted components need to be made better, however you have to keep in mind the junk resources people are generally using right now when comparing things.

That was not exactly my point, my point was that loot should be subcomponents and not actual items.

This works good in the groundgame, makes the weaponsmiths worthwile.

Well I think the idea in the system was that looted parts were good at low lvls and higher lvl pilots would buy there parts off SW's.


Right now, with the fact that I still havn't gotten good verseions of the rare loot (copper, alum, rad, steel) or any of the fiberplast, and gas yet. I can make weapons, armor, engines, shields and reactors better in quilty from lvl 5 ship use and up. (mark 3 and up items).


It's not the most intiutive crafting process, and some items just dont make a difference (using the mass reduction mod for armor is a waist i think)


Some items in the crafting system like capactorors, Boosters, and the broken Droid interfaces i cant make equal to the looted stuff (yet).


Now again, making the ships drop random looted parts some good some not isn't a big factor. especialy seeing how the looted parts can be Reverse engineered giveing a shipwrights the abiltiy to make some very nice rare loots if you combine some intesting parts together to make a unique one. And this is how we are going to get the firiespray schmatic as well so it does make it worth wild (if not very rare)


Now if you want to ask for rare loot drops of the ship item sub components as well as ship parts. i think that would be intesting (kinda like janta blood, or high speed projectile feed mechs) I'm for it, to make even lighter wieght armor or faster engines with a looted overcharger.


But i think the main reason looted parts right now are falry good (in the lower lvl range) is to help bigginer pilots that might be low on funds to buy all the ship parts nessisary to get off the ground.

Tho it is possible to loot weapons in the ground game, most weapons comes from crafters that used looted components to make them.

Should not spaceloot be components for ship parts items instead of actual ship items?

IMO it's not really going to be an issue a bt further down the road.


We're only a few weeks into this expansion, and many issues are being raised with regards to space lott and it's comparability to SW crafter components.


I think there prbably needs to be some adjusting, but in the end I';m sure the crafted components will exceed what we're picking up off of NPC's in space.

Agree. When I started, I was pretty surprised to find out that there is 0 possibility of looting subcomponents. This is a complete divergence from what we've come to expect.

Looted items should in theory be better than crafted items, but they should go to the crafter first... I think

You really want to bring this monster onto yourself? Apparantly none of you have been WS's before, believe me you dont want the looted components/enhancements hassle.......not to mention money sink.
