Before I Mastered Shipwright and before the last patch,
I was getting a lot of firespray pieces, Got 5 in about an hour.
After mastering and after the patch I have RE'd hundreds of parts.
And I have yet to get one more piece to this schematic.
Did SOE make them REAL rare? or is something bugged?
I'm getting tired of RE'ing parts in hopes of getting another peice only to be let down each time.
If they did lower the drop rate, It is too low. I should expect to get Something out of 100 parts at least.
If something is bugged I hope they are looking into it.
I'm getting tired of RE'ing and not seeing any pieces.
Anyone else notice this?

I think you were probably just lucky to get so many in a short time period, its really random how quick you get them, sometime I'll get a few in a day other times I'll get none for a couple of days.

I have a ton of disks. Well over 100. But I do RE alot more then most. Revenge is the only thing keeping me going constantly really. I have gone through around 2k analysis tools at 13 charges each. That is alot of REing.
But if you are determined to get a KSE schem then here are a few tips that no one can deny.
1) Get loot off the bazaar. Dont rely just on getting the loot from kills yourself or your guild to bring them. They will most assuredly help but its a drop in the bucket compared to what you can get from the bazaar. Expect to pay around 1k average per part. And RE as you go. Just go to Coronet and sit on the bazaar REing what you can, then move to the next city. Keep doing this.
2) Limit yourself to only a few company names. IE Incom, Mandal, Mon Cal, etc. Pick only two or three loot company names so its easier to match the higher level RE items.
3) Stick to low level RE loot. You can actually get all the disks from RE level 1 gear easier then going for the higher end stuff. If you do this then you can RE any loot regardless of company name.
4) Finally the biggest tip I can give that I know is 100% effective is patience. Dont freak out if you go an hour or more without a disk. Just keep going. You will get more disks. That is for sure.

The Name on loot does not effect what can be RE'd, only thing that matters is the RE level of the part (some parts are level 4 with a level 2 for REing) not the name or the level of part.
You can RE differt named parts but the name that will stick (assuming you do not rename) will be first part put into the RE tool.

Well I tried putting together a Kuat SE level 2 engine with a Mon Cal level 2 one and got the "Items do not match" message.

I've combined KSE and Mon Cal items along with the rest with np's.
Only time I've seen that message was when I tried to combine a part that had already been RE'd.

If you have two parts with different certification levels, but the same RE level, put the lowest level part in first.
The part that comes out has the same certification level as the first part you put in.
Putting the lower level part in first means you will get a better part with a lower certification level.

QFE, exactly....there are a number of items that have mismatched Cert Levels and RE levels for whatever reason. I mentioned this in styx's Shipwright Issues thread that's stickied above. So you have to get into the habit of looking only at the bottom number and ignoring the top one when you're examining parts.
