One of the great things about this game is that the economy, or at least what the majority of things cost is player driven. Alot of people have been calling for changes in Shipwright to reduce the cost of ships. I have seen both pilots and Shipwrights asking for this. I can understand the pilots requesting it, it dosn't affect them in any but a positive way. However, I think we need to operate on more of a wait and see philosophy.
Huh?
Ships DO NOT need to be cheaper. My God, man... it's the ultimate vehicle!
It's just a bunch of power-players whining.
I can take my NON-master-elite combat character and grind out 150-200k in a single buff session, completely solo, not solo-grouped. As a shipwright, I sell my *junk* Tier 1 chassis at 125k. So, for a mere 3 hours of effort, I can buy my own ship, and outfit it with equivalent components. This means that anyone can get into space for less than half a day's effort. Can you buy a boat in RL on what you earn in half a day? And I don't mean a little Sunfish... a boat of substantial size... something you could mount a deck gun on?
I don't think so.
Ship costs are fine where they are. What the miners get paid should set the scale for the entire economy, and it does. What kills me are the bozos that think they shouldn't pay themselves for mining and end up selling ships for less than I can buy the resources to make it. (Fortunately, I promptly buy all of their ships and re-sell them at the prices they should be at.)
Exactly..that is Exactly what each and everynew player needs to know.
/sticky lol
Components seem to be the real money spinners, with me making more from missiles and spacebombs than from anything else. It's funny but people will happily pay 200k for 12 spacebombs, but will baulk at paying 200k for a Longprobe.
