Yeah, yeah I know, you guys probably thought of this weeks ago, but today I was thinking. RE'ing takes the best stat from each level 2+ component, then applies a boost, so why not combine a looted Ion Cannon with a Disruptor. I thought I would enjoy .896 vs shields and .684 vs armor, but the suprise joy I got was my Ion-Disruptor firing yellow bolts.

Does anyone else have a yellow bolt projectile (if so was it RE'd or a straight drop), or discovered any other colors?

My Scorcher cannons (loot drop) are unusual... they're blasters, but shoot what look to be a cluster of white shots, rather than a single bolt.

Great weapons though.

I reversed some blasters recently and got some nice pink/violet colored laser bolts.

I got a reward item with an orange bolt that leaves this ripple effect as you shoot, especially in cockpit veiw you can see it...I've seince gone first person cuz it looks that cool, especially on someones back the combo of that and the sheild hits looks really neat.

I've got a blaster that fires standard red bolts, but they leave a trail after them. And a really fun RE'd one that fires stuff that looks like photon torpedoes from Star Trek or something--blue globes that kind of crackle and spin around. These are just small details, but they're a really cool addition to the game.

That's great to hear

Methinks I need to do some more wacky reverse engineering on weapons to see the bolt color results.

The Photon Torpedo looking ones would be from Ion Cannons. And to think... I was just making that same comment to my guild the other day.

Weapons take the "look" of the first item you put into the RE tool, if you take all those looted guns and mount them and test them you'll see all sorts of cool firing effects, SW are actually very limited in our blaster "styles"

There is orange with ripples (usually disruptors), Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Purple... more than that but those are what I've seen.

These aren't quite ion cannon-style bolts, though--they've got more crackle to them and some other things that are hard to describe. They're kind of like an ion cannon, only with 50% more edge. The kids should love them.

Probably a mix between an Ion and something else then. Not sure what it could be.
