Thread: What is the most cost efficient way to grind SW?

I've recently been grinding SW and have been wondering: "Is there a more cost efficient way to do this?"

Comparing Tier 1 ships (i.e. Tie-Light) to Tier 2 ships (i.e. Tie) I've noticed that the resource different is x3 while the xp difference is about x2.5 or so. This has lead me to believe that grinding Tier 1 ships in practice mode is more cost effecient than grinding Tier 2 ships in practice mode.

At the moment, I have no intention of selling these items and would just like to make the best of my resources as the harves are bringing them in.

As it is, I can grind through 24 hours worth of harvests in about 10 minutes or so.

If we ignore time as a factor are there any more efficient ways to cope with this grind? I.E. will cranking out Tier 1 reactors generate more bang for the buck?

As it is, waiting on my harvestors is taking forever. I'm able to generate about 50k-60k sw xp per 24 hour period.

Unfortunately, I'm not rich, so I cannot afford to buy the resources and go the master-in-three-hours route. Any help on how to maximize resource costs against xp gain would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

well I am also having this problem so what I have done is ground my way up the weapons tree and I am now selling my missiles to pay for my grinding.
People seem to eat missiles

It's slow going though however I am making a tidy profit and my skills are getting there.

Probably the best would be to make ship systems but make sure you experiment each point separately as you increase the diificulty level of the item each point. This isn't really grinding, its working the profession the way it is meant to be worked. Oh, and only make the stuff you can't get better as loot. This means armor, sheilds, reactors, blasters, and all forms of missiles and launchers. You could probably make a business out of just armor plates alone, btw. They decay fast and loot armor is generally horrid.

Thanks for the tips guys. A question though...

Is the xp made grinding missiles a better value than the xp made grinding Tier 1 chassis for the amount of resources used?

As it is, I've been slowly making money just grinding xp in space (enough to keep everything afloat) so profit is not a major concern for me. Since the harves are slow though, my biggest concern is the resources used vs the xp gained for each item.

Thanks,

the only "cost efficient" way to get through , IMO, is to harvest all your own reasouces and ask friends you trust to help you out . what i have going on is once a week ill grind out a full weeks worth of harvesting with heavies in about a halfanhour . we break up who collects what and we get busy doing it . then we wait till the reasouces shift which in most cases takes a week and i collect everything i need to start crafting . so basically i craft once a week . restock my shop once a week and thats it . i leave the rest of the week to play and have fun and run arounf like a goof . while i make loads of cash off whats being sold . oh and ill sit afk and bark on an auction channel about the shop and ill have a barker droid at a starport doing the same . but i seem to make alot of money and so do my firends cuase i tip them out as the cash comes in .
