A quote from the latest SWG newsletter:
"In the near future, players can look to JtL to see some changes to PvP mechanics and gameplay, new players will be given an upgradeable basic ship to be used at Tier 2, new group missions and more!"
Um, not to be perceived as a whiner, nor do I wish to start a flame thread, but did anyone else notice this? As a Shipwright, I'm somewhat concerned about my ship sales...Mind you, I know my losses won't be significant, but doesn't this move negatively impact crafters and the player economy?

I guess SOE figures there are too many shipwrights.
Can't sell T1 and 2 ships for 1.5 cpu as it is, they now want to give them away. That'll drive up the end cost of SW grind considerably... especially considering that many people aren't getting past T3.

I wonder if that's a typo, cause on TC now that is happening at Tier 0 (the new starter ships are called prototypes and are upgradeable and have hyperdrives). If you have any comments on what is happening now (assuming the newsletter is something new) please comment in my thread below (A quick heads up ...)

My reading is more along the line that they can use starter ships up to tier2 now since they will have hyperdrives and all. The lack of a HD was what revented you from using the starter ship past tier 1 anyway. Though with how the starter ships are stacked and all sort of means that tier 0-1 ships sales will go to nothing and even some tier2 ships might have diminished sales. Looks like SW are heading to the path of like DE's where we make missles, counter measures and paint kits. Unless they really increase decay on items. Though think would be a nice twist that if you used a SW repair kit you take a smaller hit than using the spacestation repair facilities.
