I'm considering standing around outside of starportsadvertising REing for components, similar to slicing. Has anyone tried this? What do you think a fair price would be?

I just have a vendor in my shop with backpacks, people buy a backpack, name it, put a max of 10 components in, and offer it back to my vendor.

I'm charging 1k per RE level . I also get to keep any random firespray fragments that may result. At least I'm getting xp from making the analysis tools
I HIGHLY recommend creating a macro in /say with all the details they need. IE pick a high stat per item for the higher levels.. etc. The reason I mention /say instead of /r , is so another possible customer won't have to ask the same question while waiting. /shouting just makes people /ignore you.
People are deleting alot of loot, rather than selling it, because they don't know we can use it.

at 1k per level you are cheating yourself. Eventually this will be the bread and butter of your profession. Plan to charge enough to make a living.

From my experience with RE'ing, you might get some great loot once in awhile, others arent worth using, but at higher levels, the chance to get, lets say 9 of the same type, with great stats in different spots, is gonna be a difficult task, and even with that said, the hit points on alot of loot pieces wont even compare to those a master shipwright could make. I think maybe once in awhile you will be able to create some great RE'd parts, but when a pilot wants to PvP hes not gonna want to use an RE'd part that will get blown up in a few hits due to the lack of hitpoints it may have. I could be wrong but thats what ive experienced and heard from other people as well.

yea the sad part is that many people fill up on loot stuff in their inv that they are destroying it left and right not even realizing what it could be used for. Slwoly having to train people to bring me items they get and will take off hands and usualy offer them discounts on other parts and chance to pick though the results.

Can crafted items be RE'd with loot item? Or is RE'ing strictly for loot?

I dump all mine on the bazaar, that way if a shipwright wants to pick out stuff to RE he can sort through and find what he needs. I would think it would probably be easiest for shipwrights to encourage people to dump there space loot on the bazaar, then they can find it rather than hoping pilots are going to want to trek back and forth to there shop each time there inventory fills up.

Strictly loot. It has to have an RE level in the description and crafted items don't have an re level.
