Thread: Markiting Advice Please
Ok here is where I stand. I am on Tempest and I mine my own minerals, but only quality (825+ on the target stats). The JTL market seems very bad right now because somehow people are selling Y-Wings and the sort for as low as 35k a chassis, and either those who generally fly have already mastered so they don't need a lot of new equipment or people just don't really fly at all. There are a ton of 3rd rate SWs out there who have vendors doted all over the map, but have sales usually only limited in their own cities and area. Also there are some areas like Riverlands who have most of the sales. There prices are very high, but quality is hard to match.
So my question is how should I go about making a reputation for my self. Should I try to make the best items I can for cheapest price (basically enough to meet the bills, but I don't want to lower the sales average anymore then it is) should I go for savings and cheap items instead or charge high but have high quality. Also with any of those areas what should I charge as a base factor? Should I add in any labor and custom costs? Or should I just focus on doing privet custom orders only and let the word spread.
Any and all advice and tips from senior marketers and SWs will be greatly welcome.

Hello I am a new SW and am starting to make plans for the future. However this is my first time I intend to go public and stick with a crafting prof (lol tied WS and well it wasn't pretty). I never have been good at pricing and understanding the inside of the market world so I could use some help getting a "feel" for the marketing area. Sorry for the "noob" post I read some others based on the market, but I could use some straight answers

Not sure what it is like on your server but I'm doing good with 5cpu for chassis and 10cpu for components.
I only build customized components these days. I've not sold an unmodified component in some time. Get the best resources you can harvest/buy. Try to build all your stuff in the "green" if you know what I mean. Low quality resources are a sure bet to have a bunch of stuff stuck on your vendor. I've been able to build some chassis with lower quality resources, but with the competition on chassis now, I have to make sure I use good stuff so I can max out the mass on the chassis.
If you see stuff selling on your vendor make sure you keep plenty of that item instock in the future. The first time someone comes to your shop looking for something and doesn't find it may be the last time they visit you.
Don't lowball on your prices unless you always want to sell at that price.
Most of my custom orders come from people who bought a good component on my vendor so be sure to keep stuff stocked.
Get enough Merchant to have your vendor on the planetary map.
I'm sure others have a lot to say so this is the end of my 2 cents
