Are you putting the parts into the component analyzer ?

In addition, at 4-4-0-0 you can't RE all types of equipment. You'll be able to RE anything that's level 1 and also any stuff in that 2nd branch up to ....... erm....not sure what level.

You picked up SW yesterday, and you're already a 4/4/0/0?!?!

What kind of resource piles are you sitting on?

And to answer you're question...

1) Build a Component Analyzer

2) Insert the item you want to come out when finished first

3) Insert items of the same type (shields for shields, capacitors for capacitors, etc.) and the number corresponding to level (4 L4 items, 6 L6 items) with high marks in you want to increase on the first component.

4) Turn it on

5) Enjoy

If I may wield a handy (if underpowered, for it is not my way) flamethrower for a minute, did you read the Holocron in-game where it describes REing? Pretty cut and dry description there. And on being 4/4/0/0 starting yesterday... I don't know how many crafting tools you had going, but I'll bet your family missed you for however long (and I'm sure it was) you sat there giving yourself Carpal Tunnel.

Okay, enough flamage. As I said, it is not my way. I'm a constructive flamer (a welder, you might say).

LOL

You might also want to read the stickied FAQ at the top ........... lots of very useful info in that including stuff about RE'ing

This is key. Espeicially with blasters. Some of them have an annoying flash that blinds the hell out of you when you fire it
