Thread: question on Skill enhancment tapes

What are the caps for skill points on experimentation?


for engine experimentation do I want +20 in tapes or +25?


is it different for weapon systems or chasis?


I thought once you got +20 in tapes for any experimentation then you were capped but lately I've seen a lot of +25 tapes and combinations totally +25



and finally are these the only 3 things i can get tapes for? are their shield tapes?


Inquiring minds wanna know....I wanna know

You get one additional experimentation point for every +10 points of a CA. The cap on points is +25 for any single enhancement. So, + 20 gives you two additional experimentation points the additional +5 is said to help but I never saw much difference in results from when I was +20 and when I added 5 more to become +25.

Up to +25 in tapes will be taken into account, in addition to giving you 2 extra points they also increase the chance of great and amazing successes, thus decreasing the chance of wasting resources on good or crit fails. Since i have put my engine and weapon systems suit togehter i have not gotten one crit fail on either set of components and have seen an increase in amazing succeses, to the point where many of my engines get an extra point to YPR. So in my estimation getting the extra plus 5 is very worthwile. If for nothing else though its a good advertising tool.
