I tried putting a looted part into an analisys tool yesterday and with just one in there told me I had too many parts? *sigh can anyone tell me how to do this process?

What level was the part you were trying to RE? It might have meant too few and just been a typo on the Dev's part.

The number of parts is determined by the RE Level. Look at the part. Once you have enough of the same type then you can RE it.
If it says X and you have X of that type then you need to /bug it.

Actually the Mark doesn't always tell you the level of the part. If you examine it, it will say it's RE level. That can be different than the Mark level. And not all parts have "Mark" in the name either. It should say what level it is right after the description of it.

So I have to put more than one part at a time? It was a Mark 1. So for mark 1 how many pieces do i put in?

Its level tell's you that amount of parts.
Mark 1= 1
Mark 2=2
Mark 3=3
Mark 3=3
ect.
