thinkin of going shipwright, but i want to know some info before i do.

Can Shipwrights make a reasonable amount of money?

I currently have a droid engineer shop around moneia naboo (not selling anything) could i make a decnet business there if i went shipwright?

What part of shipwright sells the most?

Do shipwrights have to have high quality resources to have a good buisness?

Yes, a shipwright who studies the way resources attributes work can make fantastic parts that sell very well. Demand for high quality components at all lvls (well maybe not equipment lvl1) is quite high.

With the galactic vendor search enabled, a shipwright can do well just about anywhere.

Components. paint/texture kits, pretty much everything except chassis. That market is a bit on the slow side, but credits can be made.

If you are making components yes, if you are just in the paint and texture kit business and possible the chassis supply business no.

Tell you what, you'd better take a look at the Shipwright Faq in the top post. You probably have a lot of questions you have not even thought of that can be answered there and in the advanced guides below.

But to answer this question, re'ing doesn't use resources, it uses looted parts. You'll see.

Plenty of money in DE, but it's hard work to get it

I play to have fun, not to have a second job.

I would honestly advise anyone looking to go any crafting profession not to take it up just to get money, you aren't going to make half of what an established shipwright will, as you wont have the resources or the rep. You are most likely going to finda niche market, and ok money. Doit cause you think it will be fun, but not for money cause it will ultimately be less tahn your expectations.

Crafting profession is only a small part of selling/not selling. I was DE on eclipse for a few months in 04/05 and still getting /tells if I can build droids. So the demand is there, it's just not able to find you.

Feel free to switch to SW, but don't expect the server to come running to your vendors if you don't switch the rest of your business management.
