Well, I have plenty of resources for now, but I'm curious about a few things.

First off most of my business will be special orders and requests. A few questions to those that are making a decent living at this.

  • Which resources do you use the most? Mainly wondering which harvestors I should concentrate on.

  • What sells well? Re'ed parts, blueprints, components, repair tools, paint kits?

  • Is there a list of the named resources we need, if so can you point me towards that post?

  • How do you price re-engineered components?

  • Is there any advice you can give me to help promote my business? I refuse to afk in front of a starport but are barker droids working/worthwhlie?

I'm currently going to use this website to find where the best spots are to go mining ( http://www.tc.umn.edu/~lamm0039/cgi-bin/swg/cbr.cgi?prof=shipwright ) Which seems to work best for you, mining your own resources or purchasing from a vender?

Thanks for your help, I want to provide the best prices I can without going bankrupt. Thanks again

There is no peace, there is anger.
There is no fear, there is power.
There is no death, there is immortality.
There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instil it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds.
I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate.
All the Universe bows before me, I pledge myself to the Darkness.
For I have found true life, in the death of the light.

I use mostly mineral harvies, with a couple of chem and 1 gas. I don't do a lot of active crafting, I mostly craft to fill special orders.

My biggest sellers by far are loot components. Folks are often looking for something to fill out an RE, so having a variety helps. I get most of my components from pilots, though when I am out and about I will keep my eye open for bargains. By far the best sellers are looted weapons.

As for pricing, part of that will depend on your server's economy. For most non-weapon looted components I charge 5k/RE level. Weapons are more expensive and increase at the upper levels.

Also, the predominant faction or your guild/city will influence what chassis you stock. I've sold a lot of Imperial, some neutral and almost no rebel chassis.

No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Remember... to Cancel you have to go to Register Expansion in the Launchpad.

A few more items:

I don't bother with barkers. Advertise in your server trade forum and make your vendor searchable.

As for resources, I harvest most of my own but if I find something of really good quality at a decent price, I'll stock up.

I'm gonna answer a few of my own questions since I did a more exhaustive search now....

  • Which resources do you use the most?

    Generic Resources:

    Specialized Resources:
Crystalized Bicorbantium Steel, Perovskitic Aluminum, High Grade Polymetric Radioactive, Unstable Organometallic Reactive Gas, Gravitonic Fiberplast, Fermionic SiliclasticOre.

Mainly wondering which harvestors I should concentrate on. You could do the whole thing with about 13 Harvies but thats more lots than 1 toon has. I'll concentrate on the named resources and see if I can setup the rest.

  • Is there a list of the named resources we need, if so can you point me towards that post? (See above)

  • How do you price re-engineered components?

you need lots of steel. almost everything uses steel. if your harvesting capacity is ilimited, mine high quality steel, and buy other resources.

  • What sells well? Re'ed parts, blueprints, components, repair tools, paint kits?

good quality parts sell steadily. it is really a lot easier to concentrate on a few components if you want to have stock parts or team up with other shipwrights and specialize in a few things. if you are going for mostly custom orders, it pays to have a selection of powerup subassemblies premanufactured. chassis sales are usually kind of slow, and the ROI is not as good as other items due to grind chassis being out there for cheap.
