Thread: Question on RE components

I looted a few components in the last week or so that have me a bit confused. I'm hoping one of the shipwrights can enlighten me on them. Other then these 2 components, everything i have looted the cert level has matched the RE level. But i have a few components now where the cert level is much higher then the RE level. For example i have a DI that is cert lvl 7 and RE lvl 1. Unfortunately it has the stats of a RE 1 too. I guess my question would be when REing these components what do they match up to? the cert level so my example would be RE'd as a level 1 part. Or, as a level 7 component and i need to match it up with the rest of a set.

The RE level is what matters. Basically, it is a level one part with a wrong cert level. I have seen Cert 10 with RE 1 and the stats of a Cert 1 component and RE'd it by itself.

darn. i was afraid of that. I was kinda hoping it was the other way around *grin* that 500 mass on a cert 7 DI was looking kinda interesting *grin*

It gets worse. lol. The cert might be wrong but it still applies. On the part above you have to be master pilot to use the level 1 part. lol
