Thread: Need help! mining laser not working

I've had a problem since I started the obsidian mining phase of the space mining quests. The mining laser I was given does not work anymore. It worked fine before, but now I can shoot at asteroids all day long and get no break off chunks. I sumitted a ticket and (of course) the csr didn't even read it and linked this forum for instructions on how to mine! For two days I've shot asteroids until I gave up in disgust!
Can anyone help? The CSRs are useless.

So your laser was able to take off chunks prior to starting this mission?
Can we get the stats/name on the laser?

Make sure you're still RotW enabled. They have had problems with dropping preorders because of problems with billing (on thier end)... though, if you can go to Kashyyyk, this isn't the problem.

Also have a look to see if your at the Space Zone boundry. Once an Asteroid Chunk hits any waypoint value of 8000, it becomes invincible.

If you have an small astroid chunksliding on the boundry of the space zone try using a tractor beam on it. it'll pull the astroid off the boundry. You have to play around with where to hit it though cuz the targeting reticle is no longer the right spot to hit the astroid.

Also, try selecting the rock and do /examine - is the condition negative? I sometimes get it, have bugged it.

I have heard that unequipping it and reequiping it sometimes helps. Sometimes you have to unequip it and get it out of you inventory, put it in a bank or back pack and pick it up again. I have also heard that some turret slots can be buggy if you have it in one.
