Thread: what are the asteroid rec going for on your server?

i never leveled up pilot on my shipwright ... till now ... gotta get it up to mine for myself ... but i have tried buying some from other players with little luck ... seems to be a very outrageous price right now ... (as it is with anything new) ... just curious what others are paying/selling it for on their server.

the most expensive resource is diamond from kessel and the stations only pay 20:1 for it. There is absolutely no reason to pay more than twice this.
- the items crafted with it are marginally better than already craftable level 9 that dont call for asteroid parts
- the items come out with 255k mass. huge mass increase considering issue #1
- the higher the resource cost the higher the end product cost and considering issue #1 who is going to pay?
- experimentation on these parts is broken and penalizing the final product because its calling for stats that asteroids dont even have. This further adds to issue #1.
- the pilots have 2 choices, sell it to an NPC for the NPC rate or sell it to a shipwright for double the amount.
this isnt like the old days of perfect creature meat that makes the most insane stuff.. this is an example of making things (heavy starter ship chassis aside) that are only a marginal amount better and have 255k mass.
Anyone paying insane prices is doing so for the luxury of making the item just to see what it does but considering issue #1, #2, and #4 that should end pretty darn fast unless they just like making crap and paying a fortune to do it.

thats what i was thinking as well .. heh only thing i will be using it for is the new ships for my guilds squad that likes to pvp in space ... getting several requests for them now ...
