Alright, I know this is going to be a dumb question that eventually starts a flame war, but I'm going to ask anyway becasue I don't know where else to look. But when I go to manage my Tie Fighter (not entry class) with new looted components, I get the message saying player cannot manipulate. I'm using components of levels that i'm certified to use and it is still not working. The only time I can manage my ship is when I'm using the prototype stuff that came with my entry class tie fighter. What does this message mean and how can I manage my new tie fighter. thanks!

Hmm, so you took the components out of your entry class tie, and put them in your player crafted Tie?

Well I did that only to see if it would work, and it did.I didn't put them in there to actually use them. That is what really confuses me about why I can't manage it with components I've looted, but that I can with the components that came with my entry class Tie.

I'm just wondering if you putting them in there in the first place caused this? I could be wrong but I think I remember a similar message if you tried to remove and install new components in the entry tie. You should be able to put anything you want into a crafted tie.

No, I didn't put the prototype components in at first! I only tried putting them in to see if possibly my character had to be skilled at something to be able to manage my ship because I'd gotten the error message when Itried installinglootedcomponents first. However, after testing that theory by installing the prototype components, I know that this probably isn't true.

hmm, are the other components in your backpack or inside another container? I've heard of this when trying to install components in a pack in your backpack.

I had this problem when I had "looted" componets show up in my Starship "manage" screen. Although they SHOW as an option to equip, they were really in the loot box of my Decimator. I'd be willing to be you are trying to equip componets that you do not have one you. Try looking at what you have in your pack as well as your character and try to equip them. I think you will find success.

Yeah, usually this message means you have items on a POB ship. Check the interior of your yacht, YT-1300/Decimator/Nova Cruiser or Y-8 for those parts.
