I have a Personal Shield generator and +25 defense attachments to protect my innocent artisan. Im lvl 1 fighter

My question: when i equip my PSG, i open my character windows (ctl c). I dont see any difference. Am i protected ? Is my shield bugged?

You're protected (not much protection tho) against ranged attacks.

If you're a CL1 artisan you better group with a CL80 friend when going to check your haversters. Just by grouping with your friend you get better defenses (and less aggro) than the ones you get from a PSG.

Well, grouping elevates your CL to that of the highest CL in the group. So when you're grouped with someone who is CL80, your effective CL is 80. This means lower level mobs do less damage to you. It also means they won't aggro you if they con grey.
