Thread: A few questions from a new Master Shipwright

Hello,
I just recently picked up Master Shipwright and I am looking at the new cool stuff I can make as master but a few things elude me. I have read many of the great posts and links and I am finding them useful but what are POB ships and what is a Y-8? I hear references to these but I still don't know what they are can anyone help me? They are probably really obvious but I can't figure it out.

POB is the multi player ships
Y-8 is a huge mining vesel that you get as a quest reward from Kashyyyk

Thanks for the info. How hard is the quest for the Y-8. I am only a mid level pilot.

As a 4433 pilot, I was able to solo all the mission, except the final one where you have to destroy a Corvette. Of course, you need to be a Master to fly the Y-8 anyway.

the Y-8 mining ship doesn't require destroying a corvette, the last part of the quest is minning in kessel. Even then you only need to take care of a few ships nothing to hard.

Until they fix the problems with the asteroid resources (i.e. no UT stat keeping exp values low) I am not making many elite parts. Although, the POB weapons certainly look pretty darn cool - and you can still get just over 4k max dmg on them. I've been selling a ton of engines since they tweaked the stats on them (thanks again to our shipwright corro. and the dev that worked on it - forgot his name). Sadly, I'm out of good ferm. silic. ore now

You should know that the Y-8 is an actual ship and not something you can make. You also have to do the quest to be able to use it. It is also a pretty useless ship. The set up of the guns make mining difficult even with three people in it. You are better off mining with a large cargo hold for a fighter.

Not all the Elite parts need fixes to the resources, though. For instance, Elite sheilds come out really well right now (about 3200 front/back with soemthing like an 18 recharge).
