Thread: Do I need DE with Shipwright?

Hi,I picked up the total experience pack and have decided to become a shipwright (so far I'm loving flying in space so figured customizing my own ships and building for others would be cool) but I'm just curious, should I also become a Droid engineer? I see things labeled droid interface and I hear talk about program chips and wondered if I should be working on that as well. Or normally do DE's keep these things well stocked?(with whateverit is that I need since I have no clue so can't even try to look around for them) Anyway I'm sure any Master could answer this, I just don't know any. Thanks for any and all responses!

Personally I do have MDE on my Shipwright, but you should be able to find other DE's around with stocked vendors.

The stuff DE's make for space are:

Unprogrammed command chips - used for trading droid commands between factions

Flight Computers - used for Imperial/Neutral pilots for execution of droid commands.

Astromechs with data storage modules - used for rebel pilots instead of flight computers.

Even if there aren't stocked vendors you could probably find a DE (look for a stocked vendor or ask in your galaxy trade forum) and ask them to doa factory run just for you to resell.

Hmm...Did someone clone Sencom without telling me?He's MDE/MSW/MArtisan 3404 Merchant (nice cheap maintenance and lots of vendors with the advertising)

Thanks for the info, I thought there would be alot more things I needed a DE to make so that's cool. A quick search and I was able to locate several vendors with all of these items on it, so..... back to the SW grind

aye, I save my extra skill points for master rifleman so i can kill things/not be so worried during harvester runs. I have a regular DE I order through for both all-purpose ship repair kits (master artisan) and all the droids and chips. He gets a regular customer (heh, I probably buy half his droids, and 75% of unprogrammed chips), and I get enough to stock a Droids and Programs vendor....

If you have a shipwright shop, I *STRONGLY* suggest keeping a vendor with droid programs on it. They are by far my largest seller. I've mastered Rebel, my alt mastered Imperial, and pay a Neutral pilot to program for me--I supply the chips (which adds up when I ask him to program 150 chips). Even with 150 Neutral programs, I have to restock every week and a half or so.

I thought about master DE with shipwright at one time, but feel I craft enough as it is, heh.
