I fly a KSE with two of the reward Borstel Disrupters in the hardpoints. The main reason I use these weapons is because I like that they shoot orange. But, they are not bad weapons and I imageine pretty decent when REd. That being said. Is it possible to have them REd but to make sure that they will not lose their orange color? My shipwright doesn't know if there is a rhyme or reason to what the final product is based on the pieces put in. I understand that it takes the best stats from every piece and adds a bonus, I get that, trust me I am a gear head with ship components. I just want to make sure I don't RE my pretty orange blasters away, I would rather not RE them if I can't be gauranteed they will keep their color. Thanks for any help...

The Device being RE'd will take the style/look/feel of the FIRST item put into the Compnent Analyzer.

I will be RE'ing my Reward engine sometime soon (decay atrition) and I like the look it has, so that is the first Device put into the RE'ing Tool. That will assure that the end result is the same as the current component.

The Same holds true with your Weapon, IF it is placed in the tool first then you will still have the nice orange blast.

You can preserve the Borstel color if your SW makes sure he puts the gun you want (in this case, the Borstel) in his REing tool first. This is a little tricky with the new inventory sorting, so make sure he has the tool window open when he puts the weapons inside--this will ensure the first weapon he puts in stays the first weapon he puts in.

If he hasn't messed around with choosing gun effects before, he might want to practice on some level 3 or 4 stuff to make sure he's got it down, but once you understand how it works it isn't hard to make sure you get the right thing each time.
