When I met another customer that offered me to buy one of his grinder ships he has no longer use for, I had this idea: how about a service where you sell ships and buy them back later - at a reduced fee of course.
I know this would surely freak out some SW (especially those engaged in the chassis price dumping war), but if you don't care.... "It's nothing personal, it's just business." (Does Donald has a TM on that one, too ?).
Any comments ?

It's been tried, I think, but unfortunately "grinding" ship usually end up grinded up....
Up and coming pilots tend to blow up alot so the ship chassis tend to decay a lot.
Since they need all the help they can get, a chassis with 10 HP will not be good for them.

Bad Idea. Most tier 1 grind ships run 20k in the bazzar. Even noobs can afford that.

I rent ships to my students, then refund their deposit when they turn it back in. It also comes with a teir 1 starter pack of equipment. I dont do it for the money, just for the convience of letting them get started right away without having to figure out what they need.

I just put all my ships on a vendor for 10-15k regardless of condition.. they always sell.

I was thinking of this but with High Mass varients....
Grinder buys em for 300K, I buy em back at a % based on the condition they return in. The High Mass ships really help with the grind for people, especially Imperials.

The high mass thing is workable....but what's gonna prevent them from selling the used ship up for a profit after they're done with it? At 300K that's less then 2 cpu to make. So a write off is not feasable cuz you don't even break even on your cost.
