Sorry my fault...when you said downgrading I thought you meant dropping some architect to pick up some shipwright skills....not all of it.

So what you really meant by downgrading was architects are better then shipwrights....I see..*shify eyed*..*grin*

However chassis max and min difference in mass is a total of 5% so yes still make y wings that people will buy with 1/1/1/1.

I am a novice sgipwright with skills 1/1/1/1

Can i make a decent y-wing with this?

I have never made a ship yet lol.

So I am curious as well is it like some other schematics where u have optional parts to make the ship and if so should I make those parts? And how much roughly do u figure they would sell for? Sorry for the questions just a new shipwright I spent the first year being a master commando/master marksman/ with some scout and medic since CU I went to master artisan/master archtect/some marksman enough to get me novice rifflemen and I am now have some shipwright with about 30 some points left which I will when I use them up downgrade my archtect to master shipwright. So as u can see I am new to the proffession some help would be great.

Are you planning to master shippy or just dabbling?...With most crafting professions, you can't partially pick them up like some combat classes. It's sorta all or nothing proposition.

But for chassis even with the worst skills and resources, the worst mass (the only stat that really matter on chassis) you can get is 5% lower the the best a master shipwright can make with the best resouces.

As for price, check around at some of your servers SW shops and you will get a fair idea of what the Mass they are selling and the price they are asking.

I typically sell at 3CPU (45k for a Y-wing) if I get a 50% or better in Experimentation (150k or more mass I think is about where that comes in at). If I get less (either because of crap resources or a failure in expermintation) I will discount the price some. The lowest I sell for is about 2.5CPU, but that is rare.

I'm also new to the SW prof. I'm currently only a 4444 SW but only have about another 50k XP needed to make master. Oh, I also mine all my own resources to keep the cost of resources down. You will want to keep track of how much the resources cost to set your priceses accordingly. If your buying resources at 5CPU don't sell what you make for less than that. It might take longer to sell but chances are you will sell your stuff.

Another thing to keep in mind for prices, if you can't keep something in stock you may be charging to little, increase your price by 15% or something and see how they sell. Also, don't charge more than you would be willing to pay.........

LOL I thought the same thing (glad u said it first tho hehe)

My mantra on SW chassis pricing is I find the highest (reasonable) chassi price, then find the lowest (reasonable) chassis price then aim right in the middle of that difference. Also I chose to locate my vendors near the smaller starports that pilots wind up visiting during their Tier 3 & 4 entry quests (like Not far from the Reb Base on Dantooine and Rori)..great place to have extra repair kits, new armor, and ordanance stocked). I dont want to be a Wal-MArt and try to compete in the urban jungles outside C-Net and Theed)

I dont want to be selling out all the time because I cant keep up, and I dont want stock sitting around for months either.

Ive been doing the Master SW grind (thank the maker for Double XP week LOL) having that + an inspiration buff is a godsend. (up to 4/3/2/2, and with the purchase of another 200k of steel, I should be 4/4/3/3 by the time I got to bed tonight)..and with luck by the 4th of July, i should be able to call myself master Shipwright.
