Thread: ShipWright -- Food/Clothing Buffs
Foods:
Pyollian Cake gives a bonus to assembly. Not a biggie.
Bespin Port gives a bonus to experimentation. This is a biggie. For each of these 2, they only affect the next assembly or experimentation, so you won't be able to craft a lot before you're full. I typically use Bespin Port about as much as I can, especially when trying to get amazing successes on subcomponents.
Clothing:
There is no BE clothing to help in crafting. What you do need is 4-socket clothing for attachments. There are 3 types of attachments for shipwrights:
Engine Experimentation - covers engines, but not boosters :/
Weapons Systems Experimentation - weapons, obviously
Chassis Experimentation - chassis and armor
You get 1 extra point of experimentation for +10 you get in tapes - but the max you can get in tapes is +25 so you can get a max of 2 extra points of experimentation.
Thank you. This is excellent!
Ok, so where do I find the tapes?
Looks like I'm going to turn into a drunk SW... Bring on the Port!!!! lol....
Or buy them from people that do for about 10 mio and more for a +25. Check your trade forum, once every other day you can find one there.

Oh and i tried bespin port post CU and although it says it adds to experimentation it wasnt, has this changed?
Your experimentation skill determines:
a) how many experimentation points do you have when experimenting.
b) the level of success when experimenting.
Foods only help on b), not on a).
So, let's say you have +150 Weapon Systems experimentation, a +10 Weapon Systems experimentation tape in a piece of cloth and drink a +20 Bespin port.
You will have 16 experimentation points when working on weapons (from the +160) and a skill of +180 when rolling for the result of the experimentation. Theoretically, with a +180 your chances of getting an Amazing success are higher than if you only have +160.

Okay so what tapes cover... boosters, reactors, shields, capacitors, and cargo holds?

BTW, the FS experimentation skill doesn't give extra experimentation points either, just a higher chance of better successes.
Same with going to the max +25 mod from clothing... you don't get additional experimentation points once you hit +20, but you do get better rolls.
Some crafters feel they have to max out that +25, but plenty of others realize that if they can get to +20 for cheaper they're doing fine.
