Hola,
Nice to meet you guys, I am also going Shipwright, and I am buying JTL today. I have been talking to some of my guildmates, and they have told me that Shipwright is sort of fun. Ive been an armorsmith for about 7months, and the professions is boreing me to death.
Ive been reading up on your posts, and it seems like stuff you guys make FLYS out the doors. To me it sounds awsome the demand, and I hope to enjoy this profession. I understand the lack of factorys, but I am sure we will get one down the road.
Best of luck to you all, and I will be very active in this forum starting soon.
Whats your thoughts on SW. ?

Some of us find the fun in the lack of factories. Kind of makes it nice to have a stake in every piece that goes out the door. You know...the personal touch.
Just enjoy yourself and forget about all the nay sayers and whiners. Its about you having fun for your monthly fee, so as long as you are enjoying yourself that is all that matters.
And welcome to the profession!

I just got my first box after Novice and I'm having quite a bit of fun with it. Tinkering around in Eisley, making stuff for some guildies and newer pilots as well as gear for myself. It helps that an old friend has provided me with a good deal on resources.

/sigh.. I've come to the conclusion the only way for me to honestly enjoy JTL is togrind shipwright. I just have terrible luck dealing with others. I have SO many looted compnents and I can't see any of there effects. The curiosity is killing me.To be able to loot your own components, go throw a ship together, check it out, and then decide to keep it or sell it, sounds like the funnest thing in the game to me.
Instead of having to hunt down or spam out for a shipwright, kinda like goind to the mechanic and not knowing a thing about cars, there gonna squirt some oil on your shocks and say you need new ones or something. No one needs a master smuggler right now, unfortunatley our role they promised to include us in illegal modifications was thrown out. So I might as well be a novice scout trying to buy a ship (no offense I miss that prof dearly)
I mainly want to grind some of it just to see all the little weps I've looted. The reverse egineering part is what draws me to shipwright, ugh the grind, and surrendering TKAfeels almostlike sawing off your own arm. But when you grind molecular clamps Engineering goes very fast.

I do love it so far - EXCEPT... storage is becoming a nightmare. Not only for materials to produce ships and components (that I immediately at least can put on a vendor), but in the tons of loot that my guildmates keep giving me to reverse engineer (lol - no firespray schematic parts yet though). And then after optimizing them, I can use some of them to put together new ships for the next new guy who gets JTL... who then decides to also just give me all the loot he gets...
Cycle anyone? heh
I know - it could be worse... like I said - I do love it so far.

I like it... the only problem I have is MK I and II items are not really worth the time to make. People will blow through them pretty quick and then try to resell them to get a return on thier investiment. From what I am hearing from guildies who have been flying alot MK III and MK IV components are the ones we really need to worry about.
I'm thinking that a customer ship service is really what the devs were going for. This is something that I think I will start doing today when I get off work and log on.

I am going also for shipwriter... I just hope that my skill points are enough.. I would hate it to drop some more scout skills to complete shipwriter.. and there should be some skill points left for my jedi path..
But my main reason for doing shipwriter is, to build my own ships. not that I couldn't pay for a ship.. but why pay when I can make them by my own?
And JTL rocks definetaly. Almost no lags in space, the missions can be pretty tough from time to time (remembers the TIE ambush missions which took me about two hours to complete). Right now I need a Z-95 with a hyperdrive. For that I will grind additional 30k crafting xps tomorrow.
cheers and we meet in outer space

I love doing it... A good friend of mine and me are partners..
My only problems seem to lie in the resourses... omg do you need alot and just can never seem to be able to get enough.. Which leads to another problem.. The lack of patience in the people buying ships.. I just don't think people understand the fact that each and every piece needs to be made pretty much by hand.
One of the things I do love about it - is the fact that you do make things by hand.. It is more of a profession.. I'm also a chef - which to me is mindless.. Grab what you need - put together - experiment to get what you want - throw in factory...
I just wish people would calm down a bit and stop jumping all over us - ships are too high - why don't you have a ton of blah blah blah in you vendor and so on..
Good Luck and Hope you have fun too
