Has anyone compiled a list of chassis and the maximum mass possible in each chassis? I'd like to see what is the absolute max (experimentation+resources) for each chassis.

Try the "Red Dwarf" link in on of the stickies at the top of the page. This website has a mass analysis that you might find useful.
