How can you tell when you examine an item if it needs to be rerpaired or not? I can see no stat that I'm aware of that tells you condition of item. PLZ advise

Look at the armor/hitpoints. if the 100/100 armor and 200/200 conditions don't match, then it needs to be repaired.

For instance 102.3/156.6 Armor (needs repairing). Hitpoints get effected when the armor condition gets to 0/xxx.x

For those who cry nerf...
The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.

After you get something repaired the armor/ hp drops a little. When the armor and shields valus goes very low, it's time to replace them.

Also when the component is in your ship, click on it in the manage window, if under the descriptionit gives you the option to repair it will be needing some degree of repair.
