Alow Shipwright made components to be REed.
This would fix the problem of most loot being better than Shipwright stuff. When some one wants to make a really good components they have to make 2 or more seperate ones using the different sub-components. Combine them and get the best stats off it, and BAM a great component for High Level Players.
Since it would take more then 1 component the price would atleast be doubled, and since it requires 4+ great experimentations in a rowto be the best it would be almost the equivilant to kyrat tissue for weapons on ground.
Or since it would be kinda pointless for you to RE your own stuff, alow the REing of another SWs stuff. This would encurage coperation between multiple shipwrights.

i don't think it is a good idea. it would then become easy to create a component that is maxed out on all stats. I agree that a lot of loot components have ridiculous stats (like a level 1 reactor with energy output of a crafted level 5 reactor) and need to be toned down. but enabling shipwrights to RE crafted components removes the trade offs that an SW has to make when crafting a component that has multiple different experimentation lines. And those trade offs are a great aspect of the profession. They will make it so the market for crafted ship parts has lots of interesting variation and options. Removing those tradeoffs will make all good components "the same".

If you're finding looted items to be better than all crafted items then find another shipwright, this WAS the case in beta but I can assure you it's not the case here. Some engines and weapons capacitors are right now the only items I've found that I cannot outcraft but these are rare and few.

I wish I knew how many there really were. I've got quality resource and am an experienced crafter,but I seem to have quite a number of looted components that are better than anything I can ever possibly craft. I've a looted level 1 reactor for example that has as almost as much energy output as my best Mark III reactors (and I am using the reactor over-chargers). When I see loots that good I do find it quite depressing even if I am the one who owns it.

For the lowend stuff, this wouldnt be a problem. Where the problem arises is in the higher level stuff. Say I wanted a MarkV weapon (level 7)...Id have my MSW make one that had the lowest possible energy maint/mass. Then have him make an Ion cannon with full shield eff, then a Disruptor with full armor, then a speed limiter to reduce energy per shot, one that reduces the fire rate, maybe one that has full min damage, and finally one that has full max damage. What youd end up with is an insane weapon that has full max damage/min damage, lowest mass/energy possible, low refire rate, low energy per shot, .8 to shields/armor...basically a godlike weapon. Repeat this process for shields, armor, reactor, countermeasures, and missle launcher.

Alow us to make the part and us it in the RE but have no effect on stats.
This way pepole would still want our stuff becouse they only have 3 level 7 and need 4 more to make something.
