These things were added to day, the ones I made had over 6k in repair points and apparently can repair any component. Additionally they take about as many resources as the old repair tools. Need to bea Master Artisan to make.

the other repair kits were always a bad idea IMO anyway. They are pretty much never needed except for players who landwithout repairing a badly damaged ship, since we can repair at starports for a small fee. Giving us so many different variations of a repair item that has almost no use in the first place is diffinitely overkill.

I personally think thats a pathetic idea to give the Artisans who have nothing to do with ships those repair kits. I do not know about you all but I have been selling a ton of the repair kits, now I guess whats left on my vendor will rot away. I never whine abouyt anything and support the Devs on 99% of what they do, but this is crap in my opinion, I do like the idea but feel WE SHIPWRIGHTS should be making them not artisans.

Actually, I think People misunderstand me.

I won't have to bother with repair kits-- Hooray. They're a TOTAL pain in the neck when people ask for them, and take up factory time I could be using for much more lucrative missles and subcomponents and paint kits.

Which isn't to say that i didn't carry them-- but they're a pain in the neck, especially carrying some around "just in case" as many do.

Not sure why the'yve decided Artisan's need this, though, or why it makes sense to put them there. i won't miss the added strain on my time and resources that much, though.

You guys don't get why the other repair tools are needed obviously.

They are needed a lot in multiplayer ships, where you have to fix the ship during the flight with those kits.

The artisan ones cannot be used for this and are really only useful when yougo LD in space and die.

You will need CRATES of the other ones if you are flying in a MP ship.

Well, Im a master artisan so its neither here nor there for me but I don't like the fact that I did FAT factory runs of all the repairs kits. Thats alot of resources that could have went to chassis or components.

Im calling BS on both 6k and 8k repair kits. Im using resources that both con green and Im maxing at 1236 with 2 points left over. No way you get to 6k let alone 8k even with perfect resources and all 10 points used.

I did not know this. But I've never been in a MP ship other than the Soro. So maybe crafting the things will make sense. Later.

Artisans don't make most clothing, armor, or weapons either, but they get the repair tools for them. Sure they make SOME, simple variet, but they make SOME simple variety of vehicles too. Our profession doesn't have to deal with the pesky interdepencencies that other professions do. I think it makes sense. So what if a few out of our 300 schematics just became slightly less useful. OH NO, master artisans might become more viable! We can't have that, now can we

At the moment, I don't believe I have master artisan left on any of my characters. It's always the first thing to go in any skill point crunch I have. If you depend on the money from repair kits to keep your shipwright business going, make or break? Then you need to rethink your business strategy!!
