Thread: Component Styles. A simple Request.

Well I'm not sure how many of you have made it through some of the higher level pilot professions and gotten your hands on some of the high end loot items. But I've noticed, that on rare occasions, you get some loot that when equiped to your ship shows a completely different look to the item.
For Example, the 92.x engine you get in missions. It is completely different from any other engine I've seen. I also have some lasers that are really small, they barely hang off the wings of my x-wing.
Basically my request is this, for all those components that can be seen on a ship once equiped, I would love to have player crafted given the option of looking different. Right now every player crafted item I get looks the same. My heavy blasters look just like the higher level ones. Every engine looks the same.
This could work just like the statues in architect. You craft the statue, but you pick the style after its made. This would allow for more diverse ships and give us our own custom look.
This could also work with shields, by allowing shipwrights to pick the color of the shield. Granted you'd only see it when you got hit, but that would be rather interesting to have different color shields.
Could also work with the weapons colors. Not that I dont like my red lasers, but customizing the sound and length, bullet style, and color would be pretty nice toys I think.
