Hi all.

I'm currently trying to decide if i wish to try my hand at shipwright. My first idea was to become a resource vendor for you all. As i dont make much money with my combat prof. But then i thought if i'm getting teh resources then i might try shipwright myself.

I am currently 4342 on artisan. so here are my questions

1) Is it worth getting master Artisan when doing shipwright?

2) Once i have the exp for novice shipwright, what is the best path to Master SW?

Thank you for you time

I would never want to discourage anyone from becoming a SW. However be aware it is an insane amount of resources you will go through, fortunately you can sell as soon as you hit novice. Your best bet is to focus on chassis, you won't be able to compete with masters on components and probably not much against RE'd loot, but the best master is only 5% bigger mass than you on a chassis.

The only problem you may have depending on your server is the low-ballers, these are players who generally wanted to grind to Master and then sell stuff very cheap (2cpu or lower) and take the loss as part of the cost of the grind. If you haven't much capital you won't be able to compete, it all depends how many of them are on your server and the ratio of pilots to SW's. If you can mine for yourself then you can sell for 1cpu and still break even, although resource vendors will bring in much more profit.

(P.S. Yes I am a low-baller on TC, but I have different reasons, and from what I hear, other SW's are doing well, especially since I'm resource constrained through a mix of choice and bugs)

Master Artisan is not important as a SW, if you pick up DE (which is the only crafter link, for flight computers/droids/chips) then Master Artisan is useful.

The Shiro Clan of TC -
...has successfully tracked Tiggs
...is still tracking down more bugs
NB: Any comments I make on TC code can and often do change
before they reach live and may not reach live at all, please read my
comments with that in mind.

1) it helps on survey range having xxx4 , but not much really, just means slightly longer hops on the bike.

2) Chasiss are the quickest route., but as said in the above post, the exact advantage gained is quite minimal

I did a slow grind to master starting with 4-0-0-0 and then crept up the defense/weapons, core systems columns, leaving propulsion to last as it was the least important.

SW is really a case of do you want to sell to the masses, or do you want to do it for yourself. What i've found (and i'm not selling to the public - bar a few chassis) doing stuff for a few guild mates,is that it's very much a custom build scenario, everyone wants slightly different things, and it takes time as you are trying to fit best components into a limited mass, so have to take an educated guess.. I think SW will be a much more involved system, as vendor stocks will probably not move as fast as custom stuff, but then it takes time, probably about 1/2hr to an hour to equip somebody with what they need
