I will give them the benifit of the doubt. By all means the droids themselves belong to them hands down. BUT if I had to pay and everyone else had to pay for anything to do with JTL so should they. I do not think that every DE should be allowed to do it but just the ones that have the expansion. Make it a fair deal on that part. I mean if they can set trainers off limits why not a schematic?

Droid interfaces however I think should be all us. We know ships. We know the interfaces. We know the circuits. That is what we do. We open a droid and do not know what board does what. We know thier interface language but not the droid themselves. I do not think they would know enough about starships to be able to make a part that belongs on it. I mean we can say ok this is the size of the droid so I need a space that big. This is how the droid talks ok I can handle that. I know where the part needs to go in relation to the droid now let me make something to fit there and it can interface with. Now what systems does this link need to control? How am I going to do that?

That is why I am a shipwright. Because I know starships. I would not assume to tell a DE what to do with a droid. If it were me I would end up putting the droid brain in a foot or something cause it would fit. Not cause I knew it would go there.

So, you're saying that Armorsmiths and Tailors should have schmatics taken away from them as well? Because they certainly can make Ithorian stuff without having JTL.

There's a total of what? 8 schematics that DE's have gotten due to JTL. And a new use for 1 other module. Never mind that there's a limited number of DE's anyway.

To be blunt yes. You do not have the expansion it should be just like what we have been playing. You want the new stuff pay for it. I already have to pay for one copy per account anyway so why should others get by? Yes you can call me bitter but I think it is only fair that if you have an expansion all the stuff that goes with it is for the people that pay for it.

Ah stop whining.

I think SOE got it right. No need to force existing classes to get the expansion for little benifit if they don't want to, or if they want to explore shipwright, pilot, or one of the new races.

They knew there wouldn't be a quick enough adoption rate of JTL to be able to meet the demand for the new items made by old classes. So they slipped everything in, keeping the field balanced for crafters, rather than creating an "elite" group of crafters who have JTL.

Had they limited it in the beginning, they'd have been screamed at for being a bunch of money grubbers, and probably have simply made things how they currently are.

Remember though... all the schematics and stuff didn't come out with the expansion. They were part of the compabibility update. Small difference, I know, but none the less, it is a differane, and it contained a number of things that were non JTL related, like the hooded cloak, and the reveling skirt.

Ther are also other things that came with JTL. Things all players can enjoy.

Like the new emotes.

And the ability to see players playing ithorians. Those JTL players should surely not be invisible to the crowd that did not buy JTL. Or could not buy it yet? Over here, just availibility still is an issue . Some of my guildmates anting to buy JTL still were not able to...

Anyway, Removing those schematics from those DEs not having bought JTL adds complexity to the program code. Complexity equals bugs. And even as a JTL enabled DE/SW I do not see a reason to remove those comps from my fellow DEs. The competition is not that brisk . I can't say I am selling to many of those droids/fligh computers anyway...

Look, I've been a DE since release of SWG. Let me say one thing:

For the love of Pete, let DE's have SOMETHING.

Don't gripe about DE's making a component. Besides, it's the component
most people leave off of the ship anyway.

DE's have gotten the shaft so hard for so long that it is ridiculous. JTL
is merely a new iteration of this issue.

Don't sweat it. Shipwrights have plenty to sell.

Ahhh, by that logic, maybe we should all start paying extra for all mini-publishes?

The new DE, Tailor, Armor schems were added as a mini-publish (a week before launch)- not as part of the JTL Expansion.

Every profession deserves some love, and with DE and Tailor even more so as they have a limited low to no decay market.

In 6 months the JTL expansion will be packaged free with SWG anyway, so get over it.

That is nice the Devs want to give other professions love then they should fix thier problems not add more stuff to take up more time. It might be packaged together in 6 monthes and then if you have not gotten it what are they going to do? Suspend an account and say go get a copy? No life will go on like it did before the expansion. DE and tailor will still have no market decay all you did was add more stuff out there and did the devs not long ago complain about not having enough space on the servers for all the things people have? Now they add more....alot more. I have a house filled already with nothing but space loot. Thank god there will be a way to sell it soon.
