I have RE two capacitors. One is Pilot 3 certified, the other is Pilot 5 certified.
Pilot 3 Capacitor

Hit Points - 105.7
Armor - 105.7
Reactor Energy Drain - 572.0
Mass - 1179.4
Capacitor Energy - 1079.3
Recharge Rate - 32.4
Pilot 5 Capacitor
---------------------
Hit Points - 358.7
Armor - 358.7
Reactor Energy Drain - 876.1
Mass -6304.4
Capacitor Energy - 764.1
Recgarge Rate - 27.8
It would seem to me that the Pilot 3 capacitor is better, but why can't I find a Pilot 5 capacitor that is better? I have searched high and low, and over and over, the lower certification stuff (except for armor and weapons) has better stats than higher level stuff.
I have a Pilot 2 reactor that has 13000 energy on it. All the Pilot 4 and 5 reactors I find max out at around 11000. Am I not reading the stats correct or is loot stuff for lower pilots supposed to have better stats than loot stuff for higher pilots?

no brainer....cert 3 cap...higher energy yield + higher regen + less reactor drain and WAY less mass...u have looted UBER equipment w/ that lvl 3

yep - that is a verry nice Lvl 3 capacitor - you won't get a better one for a long time I should imagine :-)
Forget the cert. level of the thing - the raw stats are important (unless you can't use it yet ... lol)

I've had a level 5 reactor of 14000 energy crafted for me before.
As for the cap, that's a good one. I got one that's a level 2 with 39.7 recharge. Don't remember all the rest of the stats, but I do remember the stored energy was only around 800.
