can any of you SW's tell me the name of a lvl 10 weapon with the green tie blast effect? naming doesnt seem consistant across the differing RE lvls. ie mandal motor annil has a blue ball effect at lvl5 and a purple laser at lvl 10.


any ideas on the green lvl 10? thanks.

AFAIK the guns named "laser" give the laser effect, not ions or disruptors.

As for color, you need to fit and fire it to find that out.
There is consistency across the board - just not in the manufacturers name. It's in the rest of the name...

Anything "cannon" is a ball... anything "laser" is a laser effect... anything with "tri" or other such "multi" name has *usually white* balls in groups... et cetera,


Colors on the other hand vary.

I'll test some of the level 10s I have tonight, it's worth knowing.

Anyone know if there's level 7-10 weapons that have the tri-cannon effect--the ones that shoot like three white bolts at once? I'd really like to make it look like my ship is just pouring on the fire.

im sorry but i simply dont agree.. ive looted subprotri-cannons that shoot the long purple lasers.


heres what i know is green (well for me on eclipse anyway) -
lvl 7 cygnus 'starblaster' disruptor
lvl 4 sienar design systems 'boltdriver'


heres the effect of the other guns ive got currently -

I've been REing a few weapons lately, so I'll add mine here. Some of the names were pretty abbreviated when I made my notes for some of the higher level ones, but I'll try to get them more specific if I've still got them lying around--and I'll be REing my first level 10 blaster tonight, so I'll see if it puts the right effect in as the gun.

And it damn well better.. I want that Gyhril animation, lol.

Now see, that's really strange... I have 2 cert10 R9X's and both shoot a red laser effect.

I had brought up the question of what will give the green TIE blasters during beta for loot, and the responce from the DEVs was anything starting with Sienar - just make sure you drop that in first. I'm not very knowledgable on Star Wars cannon, but I think Sienar is the company that builds TIEs, so that makes sense.

now you see thats what i thought... being a Xwing, Tie Fighter, XvT & XWingAlliancefan... yet all sienar stuff ive seen has had red lasers of all things...


just gotta keep looking and testing i guess.

A number of the Seinar guns I've looted do fire TIE blasters. I'll update the new stuff I've RE'd sometime tonight.

ALWAYS make sure you test your level 9 and level 10 guns in space first before doing any REing with them. Quite a few of these guns are still bugged and have no graphics files assosiated with them and thus can't be fired. If you use one of these bugged guns as thefirst gun in your RE tool, then the final product will also be bugged. (I know for certain that one of the bugged Level 9 guns I had a while back was a Sienar weapon, so be sure to always test.)

Ok, so as a direct result of this post, I decided to take my 10 Cert 10 guns out for testing before I did the RE job.

The results really got me stymied.


Before this post:


2 x R-9X were installed, both fired red lasers, with a minimal flash effect.

Now I think it must have been due to the Cert 9 guns I had installed before... There has to be a bug.


Tonight:


- 2 x R-9X both fired "Blue Ion Ball" with vapor trail

- 3 x Taim & Bak Elite fired the same ball, but a 'Lightning" effect/flash when fired

- Incom Elite Quad Blaster - fired Purple laser, with aBlue Flash when fired.

- Correlian AG-2G Quad Laser - fired Blue Ion Ball, with vapor trail

- Armek Elite Ion Cannon - Purple laser, white flash when fired

- MandalMotors Elite Annihilator - fired YELLOW laser, white flash

- Hoersch & Kessel Elite Scorcher - fired "Electric White Ball" effect.


I specifically tested each gun. One at a time, and wrote the effects down, double-checking V before landing.


I specifically put the ARMEK ELITE ION CANNON in the tool first.


My resulting effect on the RE'd gun:


Yellow Laser with White Flash. ^^^ MandalMotors Elite Annihilator's effect.


I wanted a Purple laser. ^&(*%$%^*)!!!

thats extremely worrying... im almost at a point where ive got all the guns i need to make a nice RE'd lvl10... the last thing i want is for the wrong wep effect to be used after RE'ing..


gonna test with some easily obtainable lower level guns and see if this issue is recreatable. thx for the heads-up Viduus.
