I realized the other day on a trip to the village that Master Shipwrights do not have the ability to transfer SW xp into FS crafting xp. I hope this is a bug and will be fixed. I can transfer every other type of crafting xp after making master so why not this? I'd expect ratio to be pretty awful considering how easily you get SW xp but it should still be a viable option for folks wanting to get fs crafting xp.

Not sure if I'd say it was a bug, but I too hope it will change.

This isnt a bug because SW's get tons of xp per master lvl ship, if I remember it was something like 30-40k xp. Even if they used the same conversion ratio of architect which is35:1, thats almost 1k of fsxp to every master lvl ship you make.. And if it was like general crafting where the ratio is 5:1 or 8:1, they could get tons of fsxp.

Neither pilot nor prestige points (master pilot xp) nor shipwright can transfer to FS.
If it is a bug I can't recall any official word on it.
Personally I suspect it is intentional, part of it is that Shipwrights actually need to earn significant crafting xp as we have no factory support. Master WS are only going to get craft xp when they make the occasional one-off gun (they could get some from factory, but as I understand it you need to be online and near the factory and you only geta fraction of the xp).
From crafters I know who have gone to the village most of them have earned more FSxp from merchant xp than their crafting prof.

What is wrong with that? It takes 170k to get the first box, 225k for the second, 350k for the third, and 450k for the forth. (Right?)
So if someone makes 170 Master Ships that isn't enough work/resources to qualify for the first Crafting box?
I could spend A LOT less time at the village with just a structure crafting tool making Mineral Extractors. To make a Master ship you HAVE to be using a Starship crafting station and it takes a TON of resources...

If it's a matter of gaining too much XP they only have to up the ratio to correct it. They could make it 100:1 even, anything would be better than nothing.
And Red-Dwarf is right about the merchant thing - I cap out at 80k merchant XP in about a week or so and the 4:1 conversion is really nice. It's still a slow grind, but it requires no effort whatsoever on my part.

I've yet to read a valid explanation as to why we got shafted out of the village...

as you say arcitects also get high amounts of xp per item thats WHY they have a high conversion.
i dont think this is a bug so much as an oversight. and i would like to see it changed.

SW cost Skill Points, it requires crafting and resources (just like all other crafting professions... except the lack of factory support, but I see that as irrelevant to the argument here), I believe we get the benefits from the FS crafting skills... all this makes sense, the only thing that doesn't add up is that we can't contribute to getting the crafting FSXP
Should be changed (IMNSHO)

It also takes several thousand resources to get that 30-40k SW xp., so it all evens out in the end.
Give Shipwrights the ability to exchange xp!
My alt is a shipwright (ithorian) and I don't really care to have 2 jedi, but I'd like to pick up some of the FS crafting lines.
