Fitting that shield into my Dunelizard.
So what's been your favourite shipwright moment so far?

So far? Don't know, a lot are up there.
Working on a new one that would eventually qualify on it's own, though; a level 10 engine,

Yes it's an RE'd Shield. It originally had something like 3800 front and 2500 back but the shields averaged themselves in my ship.

Obviously they're REd
I meant, where did you find/loot the shield that took the result to 3100 front/rear?

I don't know it was a while ago.

A level 8 with 3800 HP would be a leftover from a shield system that no longer exists.

Is that a polite way of saying "pre-nerf"?
What's the highest shield you've seen, currently lootable, then?

Heh.. it's actually a polite way of saying it's a shield that was altered and RE'd in a way that may or may not have been an exploit, but as we were never told the status of that ability and there are lots of these shields out there still, I'm not about to go accusing anyone of anything.
The highest HP I've seen was just over the reward shield.. a level 10 with 2500 front HP or so. It RE'd to just better than a reward shield in terms of HP, significantly higher in recharge, and way higher in mass. Good POB ship shield (in relative terms, anyway).

I don't know how it would be considered an Exploit. I Re'd the best shields i had. IT turned into this. /shrug I guess that it means i ahve the best shields
it takes a good 3 hits to get through them in PvP and it's taken a good 4-6 hits from the Vette before it hits armor so i love em

Well, the thing was, apparently, in earlier times, when you used a shield program to adjust more power on one side, the charge remained on it after it was removed from the ship. Then it carried over to an RE process. So think, get one level 8 reward shield angled forward extreme, one level 8 reward shield angled backward extreme, put them together you almost have 5k on each side.
This was fixed, but personally I think they should bring it back for shipwrights and make it an official and legal RE tactic.
The MP ships need this kind of shielding badly.

Well, this process was easy enough to do that it was possibly to end up with shifted shields by accident and not even know how you got them, so in that sense I'd hesitate to call it an exploit. However, it was definitely something that needed to be changed, and the way they went about it seems to be the right one.
Bringing it back would unbalance a lot of things, I think, and while I completely agree that POB ships need to be able to soak way more damage, I don't think this is the way to do that.

Ah i see. then i know for sure that it isn't exploited because i've never used Droid commands nor did i use those shields before i RE'd them to bring down the Mass.
And i think i remembered where i looted the shield for the person who asked. There's a Death Watch Spawn in Endor space. they are usually lvl 4's and a lvl 5 spawns every once in a while. i believe i looted the base shield which was 3800 front and 2500 back. It is the highest lvl shield i've ever looted. Then that Auto average thingy happened and it came to 3193 front and back.
