Could someone please explain the following to me ... or if not, point me to a thread where it is clearly explained :
What does it mean when a shield's hitpoints are stated as being 327 / 703 (for both front and back) ? I guess what I am asking is what does it mean when the two figures are different ?
Concrete example :
I currently have a shield which is:
Front 590 / 590
Back 590 / 590
I have just looted a shield which is :
Front 327 / 703
Back 327 / 703
Which is better ? (Mass is no problem, regeneration stats are identical).
Thank you for helping

the ***/*** is just amount of energy generated/max energy
so 200/700 means your fully charged shield is 700

what your shield is at now / what the max you shields will be at when fully charged.
If you put the 327/703 in ship and launched into space there would be a gap in your shields (blue line on hud) until they recharged.

This is an annoying bug that has been around forever. You land with full shields and log off. Log back on 5 minutes later and launch and they are at 50% and you have to wait for them to recharge. The good news is this does not happen every time you land and launch. Only when you log.
