Crafting Inventory Control

In Publish 10, there is a handy new option for crafters. A new feature has been added to the options window to help organize and reference resources. Open up your options menu by pressing Ctrl-O and then the Interface button. Scroll to the bottom of the window and you will find a list of crafting values. By checking the corresponding box, your inventory will now display the number of your choice on your resources.

Not only will it display your choice resource value, but it will also display the average value of all the checked boxes. For instance, if you wanted to see the average of a resource’s resistances, you would check the boxes marked, Entangle Resistance, Cold Resistance, Decay Resistance, Heat Resistance and Shock Resistance and when you open up your inventory, the resource will display a little yellow number that will be the average of all those numbers.

Now with a glance, you can open your inventory and check get an inventory average value for the following resource values:

  • Entangle Resistance
  • Cold Resistance
  • Conductivity
  • Decay Resistance
  • Flavor
  • Heat Resistance
  • Malleability
  • Potential Energy
  • Overall Quality
  • Shock Resistance
  • Unit Toughness

Give us the option to display the RE level of a loot item without having to examine it. If no number appears or an X, we will know it is already reverse engineered.

Even better, give the player the option to:

1. Display the component certification level

or

2. The reverse engineering level (if it has already been reverse engineered, an X would be displayed)

I would imagine that pilots would love to be able to tell what level something is without having to examine it as well.

If you can do this for resources, I would think it would be incredibly simple to do with space loot.

Yeah this idea can hopefully be implemented. The thought for a RE factory won't be.

The checkboxes you speak of only average 2 stats.

At least they used to only average 2 stats...

I don't want the stats displayed just have the option of displaying the Equipment Certification Level, and the Reverse Engineering Level.

If I want a level 5 engine I can quickly see which all are level 5, then examine them for stats.

FANTASTIC idea!

BTW, in the meantime, one thing my guildmates are doing is dropping off their loot separated by level. They've set up some houses and I can go in and see all the items in separate containers by level... Might work well for others who are also doing group pooling of loot resources.

The best work around I've come up with for this is dedicating a vendor to loot items. Everything RE 2 is priced at 22222222, everything RE 3 is 33333333, and etc. Its not great, but ithelps and since its on a vendor, my guild can look through it and request items to be RE'ed with stuff they find (since most of that loot came from them anyways :smileywink

When I sell things I use the pricing you mention.

Right now I am just grind re'ing to get firespray schematics. Any level 1, 2, or 3 item I get is being RE'd immediately. I just feel like a clerk sorting and resorting items....

I'd be happy, as I mentioned in the factory thread, with an organizational tool for RE. Something where i can turn it on, it scans my inventory for loot, and then it's similar to a vendor interface, where I can go through and get a list of name, Cert level, RE level, maybe the stats... sort it out by level and name so that i can see what I've got quickly, and all that. i don't want it to do the work of selecting and REing, but I'd like something that helps make it more streamlined. Perhaps build a better interface right into the analysis tool. So you sort your inventory, pick a couple items, push a button and it REs 'em, and so on.

what we really need is RE tool working the same way a loot kit works where by when you add the item to it it gets incorporated into the kit so the item then becomes1 unit in your inventory instead of 5 items whilst your waiting for part number 6 to Re a level 6 engine

as my biggest issue with my guldies bring me stuff is I have mega amounts that I can't combine until I get that extra item with a RE tool swallowing the parts would mean you can name the tool L3 engine or l3 reactor etc etc and still have room to store these

Awesome idea.

No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Remember... to Cancel you have to go to Register Expansion in the Launchpad.
