Thread: Do level 1 parts drop Firespray disks?

I have applied for the position of Commander of Space Forces with my guild and one of my first initiatives is to get Firesprays for everyone in the guild who wants one. I realize that this will require *ALOT* of RE work on parts just to get the disks for the schematic. We have alot a people looting level 1 junk parts and I was wondering if it is worth collecting these up from everyone.

Do the level one parts have the same chance of dropping a disk as the higher level parts?

Actually, lvl 1 parts are the very best source of schematic fragments. there is a random chance of getting a fragment EVERY TIME YOU R.E. so if you have 10 level 1 parts, you're REing 10 times instead of just once with 10 level 10 parts. Does that make sense?

Yes thats correct - and it sure is a lot faster!

Oh how many times has a shipwright dreamed of multi-select drag and drop.

I used to think unloading factories was a painful chore, then I started Reverse Engineering - ugh.

You also get the side benefit that you don't lose any parts by RE'ing level 1's, which means you can go take them to the chassis dealer after you are finished and get full value for them. So you could afford to buy them at some reasonable rate and get reimbursed.

However since 11.4, spray disk drops have fallen off dramatically from my experience. I haven't seen a disk since 11.4, and I've RE'd almost 800 items, which I know from counting the number of storage houses I cleared out. 800 = nada, zilch, poof. If this is common and not just my bad luck, this is going to be just more busywork, not rewarding, and no fun.

Good luck equipping anyone in your navy with this experience with RE drop rates.

Fundamentally opposed to the SWG GR (Game Revamp) - Fix Classic SWG incrementally rather than embarking on balancing a New SWG from scratch - Players have suffered enuf for 2 yrs., time to build on strengths, thanks! - CLICK HERE

That's why I busted my ass to get all my disk ASAP

I haven't RE'd a part with the intentions of getting a disk since mid-December, only a couple uber looted components I wanted to make even better, so I can't judge the difference in drops. I know that I was at a rate of about 1 disk every 50-70 parts before though (average, I went 120 parts without a drop, then got 2 within 20 of each other).

My schematic had 6 uses, I've only developed two blueprints so far. The KSE is my favorite ship, with the only drawbacks being the uncentered weapons and the bulk of it in your 3rd person viewscreen.
